While the rest of the country does its best to reverse any negative effects brought on by the government shutdown, the Dallas area and the rest of Texas is enjoying a real estate boom the likes of which has never quite been seen before. Presently, there are bidding wars on a daily basis in all parts of Texas, with some desperate bidders even attempting to buy off other bidders, just so they don’t put an offer in on particular house. There are not enough houses to suit this kind of demand, plain and simple. This real estate surge has taken everyone by surprise, especially homebuilders.

Surges do that. Even fortunetellers would be surprised by such a surge. Given the way the national and global economies have been, there has been an air of caution surrounding various markets, if not outright pessimism.
