WINDOWS & DOORS

Overview

Energy is expensive in Texas, and old windows leak it all summer. Replacing them is one of the few improvements you feel on the power bill and see from the curb at the same time.

Our replacement windows come with insulated glass units filled with argon, energy-efficient spacers, and Low-E coating. The frame and the glass both matter, and we don't cut corners on either.

A window is rated in a lab; your house is not a lab. The performance you actually get depends on how the window meets the opening — the measuring, the shimming, the sealing, the insulation around the frame. We replace the whole unit, opening by opening, because houses settle and openings are rarely square.

Patio Doors

A patio door is the biggest piece of glass in most houses, and usually the leakiest. An old door that drags, whistles or sweats in August is costing you money and telling you so.

We install sliding and swinging patio doors with the same energy package as our replacement windows. A door gets opened thousands of times a year, so the track, the rollers and the set of the frame matter as much as the glass.

Energy-Efficient Glass

Single-pane glass does almost nothing against a Texas summer. What we install carries insulated glass units — two panes with a sealed space between them, built to slow heat down.

Three things do the work. Argon gas fills the space between the panes and insulates better than air. A Low-E coating reflects radiant heat back where it came from. Energy-efficient spacers hold the panes apart without conducting heat around the edge.

None of it is exotic, and none of it is an upsell. It is standard on what we install, because anything less is wrong for this climate.

How We Do It

  1. We measure

Every opening, individually. Houses settle and openings are rarely square.

  2. We remove and prepare

The old unit comes out and the opening gets prepared properly.

  3. We install and seal

Sealed and insulated so the window performs the way it's supposed to.

  4. We check every one

Every window opens, closes and locks before we call it done.
